Can't find that elusive soundtrack? Here's my advice:
1.) Check my Links page for vendors and composers.
-All known online vendors are listed here.
2.) Check E-bay (see below)
-Probably 50% of my collection was purchased
through there. Keep searching couple of times a week.
3.) Search Amazon
ZShops and Auctions
-Fairly good selection with sellers guaranteed
by Amazon.
4.) Weed through the usual search engine fluff.
-Rarely works but hey, the internet is a
big place.
5. E-mail the composer.
-If you can find the e-mail address
from somewhere and if even they know where it can be found.
| Ebay Searching Tips: |
| Search by just 'game
name', NOT 'game name soundtrack' or 'game name music'. You'll get more irrelevant hits, but you increase your chances of stumbling upon it if the auction is not clearly named, such as "Giants PC game plus bonus". |
| Do as many searches under ALL categories
as feasible. Again, you'll get more irrelevant hits, but it's quicker than searching under the categories individually. You can always sort the search by category after it brings you your results if there original search was too broad. |
| Use minus signs to weed out
common irrelevant auctions. For example, doing a search on 'game soundtrack', titles and descriptions, category 'Music', will usually result in over 1000 hits. Doing a search on 'game soundtrack -anime', titles and descriptions, category 'Music', will usually bring back only 300 results. |
| Try searching by composer as
well as game name. This Seams to rarely work but is always worth a shot. |
| Check back every few days. Most auctions last 6 days but there are some up for as few as 3. Check often for the best chances. |
